*Co-counselors share responsibility for a group of campers. Two co-counselors take the place of a counselor and a JC. Co-counselors must be entering their freshman year in college and have at least 2 years of past paid experience at Decathlon Sports Club.
ADDITIONAL INCOME: There are a number of ways/opportunities for counselors to make additional income at our camp . For example, you might work at our extended care program for 125% of your regular hourly wage. Or, you might run the beach bbq with an opportunity to make an extra $100 for your efforts. Camp setup and/or cleanup are also opportunities for extra cash.
** IMPORTANT** :
JCs and Counselors are paid a DAILY wage, not an hourly wage. As such, though your daily hours may vary on occasion, your DAILY wage will not. For example, the standard arrival time each morning is 9:00 am. However, there will be a few days per session when you will be expected to arrive by 8:30 am. Though you will work an extra 1/2 hour on those days, your DAILY wage will not change. Similarly, all JCs and Counselors are expected to attend all of the Wednesday evening staff meetings. The 1-1.5 hours spent at each meeting are covered by your DAILY wage. (In total, there are approximately 140 hours worked by counselors and JCs in a 4 week session.)
