| SALARY: | $51 - $58/day (depending on year in school & experience, See Payscale) |
| QUALIFICATIONS: | Must have completed sophomore year in high school (see exception below*). Should be extremely responsible, athletic, be passionate and knowledgeable about sports, be a very good student, play on at least one school or club team, and love to be around kids ages 6-12. |
| *Exception: Former campers may apply after completing their freshman year. |
JUNIOR COUNSELORS (JCs) assist a counselor in managing a group of 16 children of the same sex and age. The groups remain together, led by the same counselor and JC, for the entire session. This continuity allows the staff to learn and address the strengths and weaknesses of each child.
EXPERIENCE:
No experience necessary, but experience coaching/assisting with a youth sports team, after school sports program, or at any summer camp is a big plus.
EXTRA MONEY:
Various extra jobs (Beach BBQ, Extended Care, Camp photos, Setup, end-of-session cleanup) are offered over the course of the summer which provide an opportunity for JCs to earn additional income.
TRAINING:
If hired you will be required to attend our weekend training sessions : Training for all new staff: Saturday June 14 and Sunday June 15. 4-6 hours each day.
INTERVIEWS:
Shortly after the March 22nd application deadline we will contact promising applicants and arrange for a 10-20 minute interview. Interviews for the Woodside camp program are held after school and early evenings at Woodside High . Interviews for the Los Altos camp program will likely be held in Los Altos on the weekends of March 29-30 and April 5-6.
