QUALIFICATIONS:	•Must be 19 yrs of age or older by June 16, 2008 •Must arrange for your own housing. (Housing is quite expensive in this area.) •Must be extremely responsible, athletic, passionate and knowledgeable about sports and fitness in general, & have played on at least one school or club team at the high school or college level. Must love to be around boys and girls ages 6-12.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
You should feel comfortable teaching, playing, and officiating a a group of 16 boys or girls (ages 6-12) in a variety of individual & team sports. You should be athletic and have a broad athletic background and knowledge of sports. You must be a responsible, energetic, creative, upbeat peson who will love and be loved by the campers.

Some camps hire staff to run a particular activity such as baseball, tennis, etc. At those camps, kids choose 1-2 sports that interest them and go to that specialist. At our camp each counselor is assigned to lead a group of 16 boys or girls (all of approximately the same age) all day and for the entire 4 week session (there are two, 4 week sessions). That counselor (along with the daily help of a junior counselor) will take his or her group to all the various activities and lead the group in those activities. (This means applicants must be comfortable with a variety of sports...especially the major "Ball" sports such as basketball, volleyball, football, softball/baseball, tennis, soccer. ) We believe that, for children, the most natural, effective and enjoyable way to achieve improvement in fitness, coordination, and ability is to give daily exposure to a variety of sports rather than concentrate on 1 or 2.

Furthermore, we feel that the most important thing we have to offer is not teaching sports skills but providing an environment where the children feel protected and supported while learning valuable life lessons from a counselor who truly cares about their physical, social, and emotional well-being.

We have been in business since 1981. The San Francisco Chronicle named our camp the "Best Summer Sports Program on the Peninsula." Our success has been, in large part, due to the great job that numerous students and teachers have done for us over the years. I hope that you will become part of our tradition.
